Cobra Kai season 6 part 3 is coming on February 13, marking the official end of the epic three-part release schedule. With only five episodes remaining of the hugely popular Netflix series, there’s a lot to unpack, especially considering part 2’s drama-filled finale at the Sekai Taikai. While the Miyagi-Do headed to Barcelona to take part in the global tournament, the dojos battled it out. But a shock ending left the future of the competition hanging in the balance. It’s one of the best Netflix shows ever, and fortunately part 3 promises to bring answers.

We know that Cobra Kai season 6 is to be the show’s last as Netflix revealed Cobra Kai would return in 2024 via a new release schedule update. What we didn’t expect, though, was that Cobra Kai season 6 wouldn’t have just one, or even two launch dates, but three. Indeed, the series has been releasing in three volumes: part 1 and part 2 are out now, and part 3 will arrive on Netflix on February 13.
Cobra Kai’s sixth season is set to be a mega 15 episode epic, meaning we’ll be treated to five more episodes than the standard 10 that previous seasons have had, and those five will arrive with part 3. Start practising your crane kicks accordingly, everyone.
Cobra Kai season 6 part 3 trailer
The final trailer for Cobra Kai season 6 part 3 dropped on Feb 3, teasing what’s to come in the final five episodes. Starting with Daniel’s voice played out over footage from the original Karate Kid movies, he talks about his and Johnny’s long rivalry. Before Johnny steps in to say: “I guess it was inevitable we’d end up on the same side.”
Sharing common enemies and following the drama of the Sekai Taikai tournament, it’s revealed the Miyagi-Do, Cobra Kai, and rest of the dojos are returning from Barcelona to finish it off in the Valley.
An official teaser trailer for Cobra Kai season 6 part 3 was released in December 2024. Over 30 seconds, it teases: “four decades of history all leading to this moment,” referring to the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. Mixed in with clips of the original The Karate Kid movies, it says: “This may be the end. But Cobra Kai never dies.” And so came the announcement of the Cobra Kai season 6 part 3 release date intertwined with martial arts.

Cobra Kai season 6 part 2 brought along some new faces, including Lewis Tan arrives as Sensei Wolf and, as Netflix Tudum also revealed, his students – Patrick Luwis as Axel Kovacevic and Rayna Vallandingham as Zara Malik. We also saw Thomas Ian Griffin return as Terry Silver despite being defeated at the end of Cobra Kai season 5, or so it seemed.
Spoilers follow for season 6 part 1 and part 2. A character that won’t be returning for season 6 part 3 is Kwon (Brandon Lee). In the part 2 finale, Kwon, one of the Cobra Kai fighters, found himself involved in a brawl that breaks out, grabbing Kreese’s knife that he brought to the fight to kill Silver, Kwon falls into it and tragically dies. We’ll talk more about this in the plot below, but Heald told Netflix Tudum: “We really got to love Brandon Lee, who plays Kwon. Not only is he a tremendous multi-world champion karate figure, he’s a tremendously charismatic performer and brought more life to Kwon than we could have imagined.”
Cobra Kai season 6 part 3 plot synopsis and speculation
Major spoilers follow for Cobra Kai up to and including season 6 part 1 and part 2.
For Cobra Kai season 6 part 3, Netflix Tudum released this official plot synopsis: “After a startling result in the Sekai Taikai, Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai must reckon with their pasts while facing an uncertain future both on and off the mat. Almost 40 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, it’s all been leading to this.”
So, where did we leave things in season 6 part 2? Well, it was all about the Sekai Taikai karate tournament with fighters gathering from around the globe to compete. There’s one group that stands out though – the Iron Dragons, led by Sensei Wolf (Lewis Tan) as a new villain. And this villainy only grows deeper when Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) returned to offer Sensei Wolf a deal – if the Iron Dragons beat Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai, Silver promises to pay off Wolf’s debts and give him back his dojo. Speaking of Silver’s return, Griffith says: “Even in his madness, you have moments of truth.You understand him. You can relate to him. He is such a loyal person. He has a code of honor that he lives by. He is is committed to what he believes. Those are elements that we all can relate to. As an actor, you want to bring [people] to say, ‘Oh my God, I shouldn’t like this guy, but I kind of do.”
The tournament leads up to a huge finale in episode 10 that saw four Udra Tigra students test positive for performance-enhancing drugs, eliminating the dojo from the Sekai Taikai. This resulted in their disgraced leader, Sensei Ivanov, attacking the Sekai Taikai host, Gunther, and triggering an all-out brawl in the semi-finals. It was in this brawl that Kreese had planned to kill Silver, but after dropping his knife, Cobra Kai’s Kwon picks it up and after trying to land a kick, accidentally kills himself by falling atop of it. Griffith says of the fight: “After all the craziness, after 35 minutes straight of martial arts, a young kid died. Kreese brought a knife to a karate tournament with kids. Is that acceptable, even in [Silver’s] bad guy world? No, it’s not. I think that will propel us into the last five [episodes].”
With so much happening in the season 6 part 2 finale, it’s unclear whether the remaining fights will still take place. Upon realizing that Kwon had died, Gunther called for the streaming feed to be cut from the tournament. Co-creator Hurwitz says: “These middle five episodes ended in tragedy and shock not only for the people in that venue, but that was televised all over the world – who knows what the repurcussions are going to be?” But, co-creator Schlossberg adds: “All the big bads are still in play. You still have Kreese, Silver, Sensei Wolf, Master Kim Da-Eun. Everything is still on board. Nothing’s been resolved. We have a lot of fun in store with all the characters left in tatters at the end of episode 10.”
As for what else lies in store for the rest of season 6, William Zabka, who plays Johnny, said (via X/Twitter): “It’s been an awesome long journey but it’s not over yet. Season six could be the biggest, the badass-est most amazing season of Cobra Kai yet”. Big claims, indeed.
Alicia Hannah-Kim, who plays Kim Da-Eun, also teased that her character is far from done, and thinks there’s more mileage for the female sensei. Before her return was announced, she told Deadline: “Hopefully, we will continue what we’ve started in season 5 on Cobra Kai… I think they’ve opened a Pandora’s box with Kim Da-Eun and Master Kim Sun-Young. It really brought a darker element to this season and I’m curious what could happen now that Cobra Kai is ostensibly defeated. I do know Kim is hellbent on global domination for her family’s legacy so there’s a lot yet to explore.”
Fortunately, while Cobra Kai never dies, Schlossberg told TV Insider that season 6 part 3 will come to a satisfying conclusion: “If you’ve seen the middle five, you’ve seen amazing next-level martial arts that ended in complete chaos and no resolution. And the last five will end in resolution. There is no big cliffhanger at the end of the last five episodes.” Adding: “This is where all the questions get answered. All the characters reach their full arcs. All the mysteries get solved. And you’re still going to see next-level martial arts – and some unexpected twists and turns – but it’s really designed to be an exciting, thrilling, and fulfilling conclusion to this six-season journey that we’ve all been on.”
So, whether Robby and Alex get to finish up their semi-final fight that was interrupted by tragedy, or whether Sam and Tory’s will take place, there’s some big matches at stake. Though we do know from Schlossberg, quoted above, that Cobra Kai season 6 part 3 will be the resolve of any unknowns still withstanding.
Will Cobra Kai season 6 bring the hit show to an end?
Yep. When Cobra Kai season 6 was announced, it was sadly revealed that it would be the show’s final outing.
However, it’s not totally out for the count. In a statement (via X/Twitter) confirming that the main series would end with season 6, its creators hinted at potential spin-offs in the future, writing: “This fandom is the BEST on the planet and we hope to be telling more Karate Kid stories with you down the line. Because as we all know, Cobra Kai Never Dies.”
And they weren’t done there. Co-creator Hayden Schlossberg certainly had more to add during an interview with Collider: “There is nothing official to say regarding spin-offs other than we are working on them behind the scenes. Our Cobra Kai fan brains are always thinking of multiple possibilities, and we’ve been working on stuff. The hope is that there’s something official to say at some point.” So, stay tuned for possible spin-offs to come, gang!
